Do you remember back in about 1998 or so, there was a big scare about contaminated ginseng hitting the market?
If you don’t, here’s what happened.
It had been a very wet year in the Orient; lots of rain.
The ginseng, even the organically grown ginseng, once it was packed into bales or bundles or however they do it, was still too wet and someone took it upon themselves to spray all of it with a chemical to slow the growth of fungus and molds.
